World Heritage Day is globally observed on 18th April every year to unfurl and proliferate the awareness of our wonderful rich heritage. UNESCO established 18 April as the International Day for Monuments and Sites in 1983. It aims to raise public awareness about the diversity and vulnerability of the world’s built monuments and heritage sites and the efforts required to protect and conserve them.The day has a huge significance as various international, regional and local events are organized on the Day related to a particular theme.Visits to monuments and sites are scheduled with an aim of highlighting the importance and preservation of our monuments.
On this World Heritage Day, let’s educate and create awareness among the masses about the diversity of our cultural heritage and we all must put in our best efforts that are required to protect and conserve it..
